Pay Your ULEZ Charge

What is the ULEZ?

The ULEZ is a defined area where vehicles must meet strict emissions standards to avoid a daily charge. It was first introduced in Central London in 2019 and has since expanded to cover all London boroughs within the M25—excluding the M25 itself—as of August 29, 2023.

Why the ULEZ Exists

This initiative aims to clean up London’s air and improve public health. The key goals of the ULEZ include:

How the ULEZ Works

The ULEZ is in operation 24 hours a day, every day of the year—including weekends and public holidays. If your vehicle doesn’t meet the required Euro emissions standards, you’ll need to pay a daily charge to drive within the zone.

The expansion of the ULEZ to all boroughs inside the M25 has made a big impact on reducing harmful air pollutants and improving conditions for residents and visitors alike.
